From December 15 to 21, 2024, Kuta, Bali, hosted the prestigious 1st Indonesia International Kungfu Championship (INA IKC), a groundbreaking event uniting Wushu and Kungfu practitioners worldwide. With IWUF rules, the championship showcased both Wushu Taolu and Traditional Kungfu, emphasizing the sport's rich cultural heritage. The event also promoted Bali as "The Island of Sport Tourism."
Among the standout participants were our proud students from DHIS Primary, who delivered remarkable performances, they were Kent Natra Aziz (Primary 6), Sebiakila Artasya Basuni (Primary 6), Nadhif Athalla Zhafran (Primary 5), and Muhammad Farrel Alghazali (Primary 5). Nadhif displayed exceptional skill, securing two gold medals in the Changquan Group C Male and Qiangshu Group C Male categories. His versatility earned him a silver medal in the Jianshu Group C Male category, strengthening his reputation as a rising star in Wushu.
Another participant, Sebiakila proudly represented the school in the Shanzi Group B Female category, earning a bronze medal with her dedication and precision. Meanwhile, Farrel, competing under Delapan Naga Wushu Indonesia club also achieved a bronze medal in the Changquan Group C Male category, showcasing his persistence and athleticism.
This international championship, organized under the leadership of Airlangga Hartarto, Chairman of PB Wushu Indonesia, aimed to promote global friendship among Wushu practitioners while introducing Bali’s unique culture and tourist attractions to the world.
The achievements of DHIS Primary students not only highlight their hard work and dedication but also serve as inspiration for young athletes in Indonesia to explore and excel in martial arts.
